KABUL chief, Hakimullah Mehsud, in a US drone strike, asking Islamabad to prevent American attacks on its soil.
Mehsud, the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan border.
The TTP chief was reportedly leaving a meeting at a mosque in Dande Darpakhel area, three miles from Miranshah, the main town in the region, when the drone targeted the vehicle he was travelling in.
A spokesman for the Afghan Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, said they strongly condemned the death of Mehsud.
“We received the sad news that Hakimullah Mehsud has died in a cowardly US attack in North Waziristan,” Mujahid said in a statement.
The statement added the Afghan Taliban condemned the drone strike in the strongest words, calling Mehsud’s death a big blow to the movement. Mujahid asked the Pakistani government and people to prevent such attacks inside their country.
