Radio journalist dies in accident
Matin Baryal, who worked for the privately-run radio station Merman Radio, was travelling in a car with his family to Kabul when the accident took place in the Jaldak area of Zabul.
Abdul Sami Ghairatmal, a representative of the journalists’ protection organisation NAI in southern Kandahar province, said Baryal wanted to take a family patient to a hospital in Kabul.
The radio station’s head, Mustafa, confirmed Baryal had died in the traffic accident along with two family members.
