ASADABAD/KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Ten militants have been killed and 10 security personnel injured in security offensives and other incidents of violence in different parts of the country, officials said Saturday.
Kunar police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Sayedkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News four Afghan Local Police (ALP) officials were wounded by a roadside bomb they were defusing in Nawabad area on the outskirts of Asadabad.
He said two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and a policeman were wounded in a mortar attack in the Shigal district of Kunar this morning.
Ten insurgents were eliminated during an operation in the Zamto village of Mianishin district in southern Kandahar province, the 205th Atal Military Crops said.
In a statement, it said two security personnel were injured in the Zherai district of Kandahar and Kajaki town of neighbouring Helmand.
Border police said around 138 kilograms of opium were recovered from a vehicle in the Khanshin district of Helmand.
