KABUL launched operations from Kabul to Mazar-i-Sharif on Saturday, with the inaugural flight landing in the Balkh capital at 9.05am.

Mohammed Aslam, Safi Airways regional manager for Afghanistan and India, said: “The flights between Kabul and Mazar-i- Sharif would operate Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Flights will depart from Kabul at 8.00 hours local time and arrive in Mazar-i-Sharif at 09.05 hours. Return flights will depart Mazar-i-Sharif at 09.50 hours and arrive in Kabul at 10.55 hours local time.

“We are delighted to meet our customers’ need as we continue our drive to be Afghanistan’s favourite airline. In coming months, we intend to announce operations to other destinations in Afghanistan,” he added.

The airline currently operates flights from Kabul to Dubai, Delhi, and Islamabad on international routes and Herat and Mazar-i-Sharif on the domestic sector.

Safi Airways has been in operations for the last six years to fill the market gap for a safe and reliable full-service airline, linking Afghanistan to the rest of the world by the Safi Group of Companies— a diversified conglomerate based in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
