Men held for allegedly planning suicide attacks

KABUL): Police on Tuesday detained three individuals allegedly planning suicide attacks in Shiberghan, the capital of northwestern Jawzjan province.

They were arrested around 4pm in Khanaqa area of the city, police chief Col Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani told Pajhwok Afghan News.

“Police and intelligence forces arrested the men along with four Kalashnikovs, 10 hand grenades and three suicide vests,” he said.

The detainees had confessed to planning attacks on security forces during preliminary interrogations, the police chief said, without going into details.
