KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): A child was killed and two American troops injured as a result of a suicide bombing in the Daman district of southern Kandahar province on Friday, an official said.
The bomber on foot targeted American troops as they came out of their base for a patrol in the Ghar village around 3pm, the district chief, Khadi Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the blast took place in front of an International Assistance Security Force (ISAF) base, leaving a passing child dead and two American troops injured. A second child was also injured in the explosion, he said.
The US-led coalition troops have said nothing so far about the suicide attack and there has been no claim of responsibility so far.
