KABUL): The Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) on Monday appointed Niaz Mohammad Amiri as new governor of central Logar province.
In a statement, the IDLG said Niaz Mohammad Amiri had been appointed in the wake of a presidential decree who would be successor of Arsalla Jamal, the former governor, for the province killed in a bomb blast at the first day of Eid-ul Adha.
The statement said Amiri was representing southern Ghazni province in the previous period of Wolesi Jirga or lower house of parliament.
A highly educated person, the newly appointed governor has enough working experience to run his office affairs diligently, the statement concluded.
