KANDAHAR (PAN): Two children were killed and three civilians, including a woman wounded in a roadside bomb blast in Maiwand district of the southern Kandahar province on Wednesday, an official said.
Talking to Pajhwok Afghan News, Maiwand district security official whishing not to be named said the explosion took place near two passenger cars which probably struck a planted landmine last evening.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital and they were said to be in stable condition.
In separate incident the other day, four civilian were died in a similar incident in Panjwai district of Kandahar province.
Taliban had planted landmines on roads, which resulted in the casualties of civilians, he said, adding police had started further investigation.
The incidents of roadside bombs had drastically increased in Kandahar province which mainly caused civilian causalities.
