KABUL.

A statement issued by the Etisalat Afghanistan said it was committed to empower and promote sports in Afghanistan.

After a stiff resistance, Afghanistan lost their first-ever Twenty-20 international to Pakistan by six wickets at Sharjah on Sunday.

Putting up a brave fight, Afghanistan posted a challenging 137-8 in their 20 overs, which Pakistan managed to overhaul for the loss of four wickets off the penultimate ball of the match.

Etisalat Afghanistan said it was the main sponsor of Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB).

The group of 18 customers along with some officials from Etisalat Afghanistan travelled to Sharja two days before the match started in a move to enjoy a tour of the city.

Yasser Aboul Amayem, CCO, Etisalat Afghanistan said: “To express our gratitude for our customers’ loyalty, we hosted some of them in Sharja in a move to support the national team of Afghanistan in its match against Pakistan.”
