TARINKOT (PAN): Two sisters-in-law, a policewoman and a teacher, were found dead mysteriously in central Uruzgan province, an official said Wednesday.
Col. Mohammad Aslam, the provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News police found their bodies early in the morning.
The pair’s bodies, with gunshots on their bodies, were found in Deh Yak area on the outskirts of Tirinkot, he said.
One of the victims was a policewoman and another was a teacher at the Sarwari High School of the provincial capital, he added. Police have started an investigation.
Eid Mohammad, a teacher at the school, identified his slain colleague as Malala, who had joined the profession three years ago.
The women’s affairs director, Rana Sami, condemned the incident and urged the government to initiate a thorough investigation into the murder. She said both women were married to two brothers.
