JALALABAD (PAN) aircraft has crashed in the Batikot district of eastern Nangarhar province, the alliance said in a statement on Saturday.
A statement from the ISAF media office said: “We can confirm that a Scan Eagle unmanned aircraft crashed in eastern Nangarhar province on December 20.”
Mohibullah, a resident of the district, said the pilotless aircraft crashed around 2:30pm on Friday in Kodai locality. Soon after the crash, militants bundled the wreckage into vehicles and left, he said.
US forces reached the scene and left the area after a while, the resident said, giving a witness account. However, he gave no further details.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman, said militants had shifted the aircraft wreckage to an unidentified location.
