FARAH CITY (PAN insurgents kidnapped three Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) workers in western Farah province, an official said on Sunday.
The incident took place in Pusht Rod district late on Saturday, when the workers were busy inspecting an under-construction bridge, the town’s administrative head said.
Ghausuddin told Pajhwok Afghan News negotiations with Taliban representatives were ongoing to secure the release of the workers.
A resident of Trajmir village, where the kidnapping occurred, said one of victims was his brother and the other two his cousins. He said they were ordinary workers and asked the government to ensure they were released unhurt.
