KANDHAR/LASHKARGAH (PAN): One civilian has been killed and three others wounded in two separate explosions in southern Helmand and Kandahar provinces, officials said on Thursday.
A child was killed and another wounded when his handcart struck a roadside bomb in the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar in the afternoon.
Police spokesman Zia Durrani told Pajhwok Afghan News an investigation into the incident was underway.
Elsewhere, two civilians were wounded when an explosives-rigged motorcycle went off in the Nad Ali district of Helmand province.
The incident took place before noon when police pick-ups were passing through the Janjil area of the district, said the governor’s spokesman, Omar Zwak.
Police escaped unhurt in the blast, he added. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
