KABUL): Traffic accidents in Baghlan, Takhar and Badakhshan provinces have left seven people dead and a dozen others injured, officials said on Saturday.
Capt. Abdur Raziq, a traffic police officer in Baghlan, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a Kabul-bound passenger bus collided with a car in the Bala Dori area of Pul-i-Khumri.
Four people were killed and five others injured, he said. The injured were taken to hospital while the bus drive escaped, the official added.
In northern Takhar province, two people were killed and as many wounded when a pick-up ploughed into a car in the Qalaqsai area of Rustaq district, the governor’s spokesman said.
Sunnatullah Timuri added a 10 years old girl and her 35 years old mother had been killed in the incident and two others critically injured.
Elsewhere in the north, one student was killed on the spot and five others were wounded when the car they were travelling in fell into a river in Badakhshan.
Naveed Frotan, the governor’s spokesman, said the students were traveling from Kishim district to Faizabad to appear in a college entry test.
