KUNDUZ CITY (PAN): At least four people, including a police officer, have been killed in separate incidents in Kunduz and Faryab provinces, officials said on Saturday.
Syed Sarwar Hussaini, the Kunduz police spokesman, said two men were killed last night when they quarreled on a trivial issue at a wedding ceremony. Several guests left the ceremony after the incident.
In another incident, a police officer and a constable were killed in the Shirin Tagab district of northwestern Faryab province.
Syed Luqman Gahrik, the district chief, said an explosion in the Dawlatabad area left police officer dead. The explosive device had been attached to a motorcycle.
But Qari Yousaf Ahmadi, the Taliban spokesman, claimed killing two officers Khan Zabit and Awlya Qul in the attack.
He said Mullah Mohibullah, a local police commander, had joined Taliban ranks in the Garizwan district of Faryab.
But Abdul Raziq Kakar, the district head, rejected the claims and said there was no commander by the name of Mohibullah live in the town.
