GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Anti-Taliban uprising commander from Andar district has been wounded as a result of an explosion in Ghazni City, officials said Saturday.
Shafiq Nang, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion took place at Shahidan Square around 1:30pm when Shaheen, the uprising commander, was passing the area in his car.
Dr. Baz Mohammad Himmat, the civil hospital director, said the commander was evacuated to the hospital in critical condition before he succumbed to his injuries.
No one has responsibility for the attack so far. Residents of Andar district rose in arms against the Taliban last year. Currently, locals control half of the district.
