KABUL) official has been foiled and three suspects have been arrested in Kabul, the spy service said on Wednesday.
In a statement, NDS said the detainees wanted to assassinate Deputy Director Dr. Mohammad Yasin Zia under a plot orchestrated by Taliban’s northwestern city of Peshawar.
The three suspects were detained in the jurisdiction of 17th police district of Kabul, the statement siad, without giving an exact date.
It claimed an RPG-7, anti-tank rocket-propelled grenade launcher, with its five shells, a Kalashnikov, 12 hand-grenads, two sacks filled with explosives and nine detonators were siezed from the detainees.
The statement said the detainees belonged to Afghanistan and they had confessed during primary
interrogations to receiving directivs from Maulvi Ismail and Akhtar Mohammad in Peshawar for carrying out a group suicide attack on the deputy NDS director.
