Police seize 400 kg drugs in Herat
HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The border police held some suspects with 400 kilogram drugs in the Kahsan district of western Herat province, officials said Tuesday.
Gen. Mohammad Adil, border police chief of 4th zone, told Pajhwok Afghan News the drugs were recovered from a truck hidden in its compartments early morning.
Since March last year, he said border police had foiled several drugs smuggling bids and seized 2,000 kilogram of contraband and held several smugglers.
He did not tell about the numbers of detained the alleged smugglers but said that Iranians and policemen were among the detainees.
He said the suspects were being investigated which could lead to more arrests of smugglers.
