2 civilians injured in Kabul explosion

KABUL (Pajhwok): Two civilians were wounded in a bomb explosion in this heavily-fortified central capital on Saturday evening, officials said.

The bomb went off in the Qala Najar area of Khairkhana area at 7.20pm, Ministry of Interior spokesman Siddique Siddiqui told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Hashmat Stanikzai, the Kabul police spokesman, said that the explosives had been placed on the footpath. Two passers-by were injured in the blast.

He added the target was not immediately clear. Police are investigating the incident, according to the spokesman, who gave no further details.
