LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Six civilians were killed and more than a dozen others wounded in a roadside bombing in southern Helmand province, an official said on Sunday.
The casualties happened in the newly-created district of Naw Amesh in the evening when the vehicle the individuals were travelling in struck the roadside bomb.
Omar Zwak, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the casualties included women and children. He gave no further details of the explosion.
Local tribal elder Haji Zafar said the victims, belonging to the Kajran district of Daikundi province, were on their way to Kandahar via Uruzgan.
