Policeman dies in Kandahar blast
KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): A policeman was killed in a suicide bombing in southern Kandahar province on Monday, an official said.
Zia Durrani, provincial police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place at around 5:30pm in the fourth police district in front of the Mirwais Neka School.
During a routine search operation, police identified the suicide attacker on a motorbike. The bomber blew himself up, leaving one policeman dead on the spot. There were no civilian casualties in the blast, he added.
Noor Mohammad, a resident of the locality, said he heard a loud explosion on his way home. He had no idea about the casualties.
