FARAH CITY (PAN): A militant and an Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier have been killed and four others wounded during separate security incidents in western Farah province, officials said on Tuesday.
The deaths occurred when militants mounted an attack on a patrol of Afghan forces in the Shiwan area of Bala Baluk district last night, the 207th Zafar Military Corps spokesman said.
Abdur Rauf Rahimi told Pajhwok Afghan News one of the attacker was also wounded during the clash that lasted half an hour.
Three policemen were wounded in a separate clash with militants in Pusht Koh district last night, said the provincial police spokesman, Ahmad Javed.
The incident took place after the fighters stormed a police post in Mullah Lalo area of the district, he said, adding the attackers fled the scene after a while.
