KABUL) contracted-civilians were killed in a suicide attack in the 12th police district of Kabul on Monday afternoon, officials said.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed the bombing in the Ahmad Shah Baba Mina Square, but offered no information on casualties.
But a police official told Pajhwok Afghan News two foreign soldiers were killed and a third wounded in the attack on a convoy of the NATO-led force. Five civilians were also wounded as result of the blast, he said.
Hezb-i-Islami (HIA) claimed responsibility for the attack. The group’s spokesman, Eng Haroon Zarghoon, said 13 American troops were killed and three vehicles destroyed.
“Two ISAF-contracted-civilians died as the result of a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan today,” the multinational force said, without giving the exact location.
