15-member squad for Asia Cup announced

KABUL Cricket Board (ACB) on Friday announced a 15-member squad for the five-nation Asia Cup, which commences from February 25 in Bangladesh.

Afghanistan will play their first match against Pakistan on Feb. 27, second against Bangladesh on March 1, third against Sri Lanka on March 3 and fourth against India two days later.

Led by Mohammad Nabi Issakhel, the side includes Mohammad Shahzad, Noor Ali Zadran, Karim Sadiq, Nawroz Mangal, Asghar Stanikzai, Samiullah Shinwari, Rahmat Shah, Mirwais Ashraf, Fazal Niazi, Hamza Hotak, Hamid Hassan, Shahpur Zadran, Dawlat Zadran and Najib Zadran.

ACB Chief Executive Dr. Noor Mohammad Murad said the Selection Committee had chosen a balanced and competent line-up. He hoped the team would perform well and bring home more laurels.
