JALALABAD (Pajhwok): One policeman was killed and five others were wounded on Thursday when the vehicle they were travelling in struck a roadside bomb in eastern Nangarhar province.
Nangarhar Civil Hospital Director Dr. Humayun Zaheer confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News receiving the body of one policeman and five others in wounded condition.
But police chief, Brig. Gen. Fazal Ahmad Sherzad, said five policemen were wounded, one of them critically, in the explosion.
He added the blast hit a vehicle of Police Academy trainers on the Kabul-Jalalabad road in front of the Customs Directorate at 1.00pm.
