Police officers complete training

KANDAHAR CITY: (Pajhwok): About 529 police officers received graduation certificates from a police training centre in southern Kandahar province, security officials said on Thursday.

A number of security officials attended the graduation ceremony for the policemen on completion of the 18-month course.

The police officers were from Kandahar, Zabul and Uruzgan, Lt. Gen. Nasrullah Zarifi, the police training chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Of the 529 graduates, 70 sergeants and 218 police officers are from Kandahar, 14 sergeants and 27 officers from Zabul and 131 sergeants and 70 border police officers from Uruzgan.

He hoped the police officers, who were also educated on human rights and cultural and Islamic values, would be able to discharge duties properly.
