Tree plantation drive kicks off in Helmand
LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): The governor has inaugurated a spring tree-plantation drive in southern Helmand province. The campaign also involves developing thousands of nurseries, his office said on Saturday.
Governor Muhammad Naeem, who planted a sapling to launch the campaign, said seedlings were being delivered free of cost to the municipality and other organisations by the agriculture department.
He urged Lashkar Gah dwellers to look after the newly-planted trees, hoping fruit-bearing and flowering trees would make the city greener and more beautiful.
