LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Hundreds of people held two separate gatherings in southern Logar province on Tuesday announcing to support presidential contenders Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and Dr. Zalmai Rasoul.

A huge gathering held in the provincial capital was organized by the right and justice party in support of Ahmadzai in the April 5th presidential ballots.

Noorullah Jalali, a tribal elder, while speaking on the occasion said they should vote in favour of Ahmadzai who was a leading leader of international caliber and had the ability to put the country on path to durable peace, progress and prosperity.

Ahmadzai could pull the country out of crisis and ensure economic prosperity and he was the best choice for presidency, he remarked.

In a separate public meeting, Abdul Rahman, a tribal elder in Garmser district stressed the people to cast their vote for Rasoul in the upcoming elections.

He said Rasoul was an internationally known figure who would serve the nation and country in a better way.
