KABUL (Pajhwok): A primary court in Kabul sentenced three persons, including a female, to death for killing an elderly woman and her two grandchildren, the judge said on Wednesday.
The court in the city’s fourth municipal district handed down the capital punishment in the triple murder case that took place in the 17th municipal district limits in June last year.
Judge Qazi Walli Ahmad Asim said the accused had killed an old lady and her two grand kids aged 13 and 12 years.
He said the convicts, who had confessed to their crime, first beat the victims until they were unconscious before killing them.
Asim said the jury sentenced Mohammad Rahim, Mohammad Hashim and Zahra to death in the light of evidence brought before the court and confessions by the accused.
However, Rahim criticised the verdict, saying he had played a minor role in the murder saga.
The judicial penal said it verdict was not final and could be challenged in the upper court.
