Men kidnapping children to Pakistan detained
PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Police on Saturday detained three individuals in southern Baghlan province allegedly transferring 27 children to Pakistan, an official said.
The individuals planned to transfer the children from Kunduz province to Pakistan and train them to carry out suicide attacks in Afghanistan, provincial police chief, Aminullah Amarkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said seven of the children were girls, with all of them were teenagers below 15 years.
One of the children from Chahardara district of Kunduz, Nasir said: “These people came to our home and convinced our parents they want to educate us in Islamic studies. And our parents agreed with them.”
Nasir 11, said the children spent last night in Kunduz with their kidnappers and then proceeded toward Pakistan.
But one of the detainees, Mohammad Hassan, said they had no plan to kidnap the children rather they want to shift them to Lahore, the Punjab province of Pakistan for Islamic education.
Laghman police officials said the case is being investigated further.
