Sayyaf promises greater role for mujahideen
Addressing thousands of supporters in central Parwan province, Sayyaf said he would give mujahideen their share in power. The candidate said he complete confidence in the freedom fighters’ ability.
“Some people believe the mujahideen cannot run state affairs, but we will prove how we can rebuild a devastated country," said the ex-jihadi commander. “If our team succeeds, it will make life comfortable for the people and pay more attention to mujahideen."
The main objectives behind his candidacy included defence of the motherland, provision of basic services to the people and introduction of the Islamic system.
Amir Mohammad, a resident of Jabalus Saraj district, was among the participants of the public meeting. He told Pajhwok Afghan News: "I would like to support Sayyaf, who is a leading scholar and more knowledgeable than other candidates."
