US condemns Jalalabad, Kabul attacks
KABUL (Pajhwok): The US Embassy on Friday vehemently denounced the recent senseless acts of violence against the police in Jalalabad and the Serena Hotel in Kabul.
“The perpetrators of these acts have needlessly shed the blood of both Afghans and their international partners at a time when citizens are celebrating Nawroz and preparing to vote in historic elections,” a statement from the embassy said.
It added: “The barbaric nature of these events reminds us of the total disregard the insurgents have for human life and their fear of a free vote for the future of Afghanistan. We offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.”
The United States would continue to stand with the Afghan people and government in the pursuit of a stable, prosperous, and democratic Afghanistan, where all life was respected, the statement said.
