TALOQAN (Pajhwok): The Farkhar district police chief on Saturday thrashed tribal elder Safdar Mohammad and detained two others for refusing to cast their votes for his favorite candidate, official said on Saturday.
Brig. Gen Abdul Hanan Qataghani, the Takhar police chief, confirmed the incident and promised to investigate the incident.
Safar Mohammad, a former district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the police officer Ali beat him and put his friends behind bars when they declined voting for his contenders of his choice.
Earlier, Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers beat Pajhwok Afghan News reporter and broke his camera and other materials in Nangarhar province.
