KABUK (Pajhwok): A number of voters in Deh Sabz district on the outskirts of Kabul province complained against lack of election materials in the polling stations, saying several voters of Deh Yahya locality would be left without exercising their democratic right.

A Pajhwok Afghan News reporter visited the locality to observe polls process on two polling stations each one for male and female.

It was noticed that voting could not be started till 9:30am at one of the polling stations.

Ghulam Haidar, a voter at the polling station, told Pajhwok Afghan News he had been waiting since two hours outside the polling station.

He said election gear for 1,800 people had been dispatched to three polling stations and a total of 3,000 families were living in Deh Yahya locality.

Present on the polling station, a representative of presidential runner Dr. Abdullah Abdullah said the material would finish by 11:00 am.

Mohammad Ashraf, in charge of the polling station, said he had informed the Independent Election Commission (IEC) about the polls’ shortage material but yet to receive any response.
