KABUL a brotherly country, pledging to work in collaboration with new Afghan leaders for bringing peace and tranquility to the region.
Nawaz Sharif said that the Afghan people — making decisions through ballot — reflected their determination and keen interest in adopting democratic culture.
A peaceful transfer of power would take place in Kabul after Saturday’s elections, he hoped, saying the vote would boost democracy in Afghanistan.
“This election would prove a historic moment for the Afghan people in their democratic journey,” he observed in a statement from the Pakistan embassy in Kabul.
He also expressed the hope that these elections would be instrumental in creating unity and harmony among the people of the war-torn country.
