LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Development work to implement 112 development projects as part of the stability program in southern Helmand province has been expedited, an official said on Wednesday.
Mohammad Umar Qanai, the rural and development director, told Pajhwok Afghan News the projects being implementing in Lashkargah, the provincial capital, and Greshk, Garmsir and Nadali districts would help provide thousands of residents with jobs.
Around 112 development projects included retaining walls, bridges, water controlling gates, small streams and road construction would cost $700,000 and would take few months to be completed.
“All the projects will be implemented in a fair way. The projects will create thousands of job opportunities for the locals,” he added.
Rahimullah, a resident of Bolan area, said that a project of Subat program had already begun, with 2,000 manpower was working which decreased ratio of joblessness among youth.
