KABUL (Pajhwok): The Kabul Municipality has so far planted nearly three million trees during the past three years in central Kabul province, an official said on Thursday.
A senior municipality official Nasrin Sabri, launching a drive to plant 500 seedlings in Kabul, said they were concerned about damages caused to new plants by children.
She said it was encouraging that the youth evinced a keen interest in planting trees and motivating others to promote the culture in Afghanistan.
However, she said such efforts lacked support from police to protect baby trees and cited damage to plants by passing sheep another problem.
A civil society.
“Every citizen should regard Kabul as own home and play a part in keeping it clean,” Kawah added.
