JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Four members of an uprising group and 10 militants were killed during an hours-long clash in the Hesarak district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Wednesday.
Nangarhar police chief Brig. Gen. Fazal Ahmad Sherzad told Pajhwok Afghan News the clash took place a day earlier, leaving four tribesmen and 10 militants dead. Several militants and one member of the uprising group suffered injuries during the clash.
Meanwhile, security officials in Nangarhar were given away commendation letters for maintaining tight security during the elections.
Governor Maulvi Attaullah Ludin and other senior Afghan military, police and government officials were present on the occasion.
