TALUQAN (Pajhwok): Dozens of children suffering from various diseases erupted in the northern Takhar province in the aftermath of continuous downpours and flash floods that left hundreds of families displaced.
Torrential rain followed by heavy floods and land sliding displaced hundreds of families in Rustaq district who later migrated to Dashti Qala district. The affected families were provided with tents and other aid.
However, the families have been complaining about scarcity of food and medicines.
Imamuddin, a displaced person, said three of his children were fallen ill because of the absence of direly needed food, medicines and squalid condition where they were living.
Almansa, a woman at the camp, told Pajhwok Afghan News she was concerned about her four children suffering from various kinds of diseases.
They demanded the authorities should provide the dwellers of the camp with necessary food items, medicines and ensure cleanliness measures at the camp.
