Sayyaf to conditionally back future govt
KABUL (Pajhwok): Trailing presidential candidate Abul Rab Rassoul Sayyaf on Wednesday said they wanted a future government that was in the interest of Islam and Afghanistan and could bring about peace and stability.
Addressing a graduation ceremony for the Dawat University students in Kabul, the former jihadi commander criticised leading presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah for not participating in the graduation ceremony.
Sayyaf has secured seven percent of votes in nearly 50 percent of ballots tallied so far and is in the fourth position behind Zalmai Rassoul.
