KABUL facilities from kindergarten under an agreement among private institutions, an official said on Sunday.

The agreement was inked between the labour, social affairs, martyrs and disabled (MoLSAMD) deputy minister, Wasil Noor Mohmand and representatives of private institutions worth 148 million afghanis in Kabul on Sunday.

Under the agreement, the allocated fund would be used within one and a half year by relevant institutions, he said, adding the move was aimed at supporting vulnerable and orphan children in various provinces.

“The agreement covers deserved children who will be signed up for schools when they reach seven years of age,” Mohmand added.

Presently, there are 55 kindergartens across the country, providing education facilities to more than 5,000 children.

Amana Afzali, said: “Private sector should assist in educating children because the government alone cannot alone shoulder the burden.”

Calling her ministry’s main purpose to support children, she commended private sector for providing adequate services over the past decade in various spheres.

An incharge of Aria kindergarten in Kabul City, Najia Syedi, said her kindergarten has covered educational and other expenses of about 200 children.

More than 10,000 children were provided education facilities, according to the ministry.
