The Pakistan embassy in Kabul said a C-130 helicopter carrying essential food items, tents, medicine, clothing, water filtration plants etc, had landed in Afghanistan.
A statement from the embassy said the aircraft arrived at the Faizabad airport and the relief goods were handed over to senior provincial authorities and representatives of the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority.
Pakistan would send the third planeload of aid tomorrow for the people of Agro district of Badakhshan, where hundreds of houses were flattened by the natural disaster.
“Pakistan has always supported Afghanistan in difficult times and would provide all possible assistance to its Afghan brothers in this hour of need,” the statement added.
