KABUL (Pajhwok): Etisalat on Thursday expressed its deepest condolences over the recent landslide incident in the Argo district of Badakhshan province and shared the grief of the families who lost their homes and loved ones.

In association with the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology, the telecom giant allocated an amount of 1.2 million afs from its commercial charitable fund.

A statement from the company said the ministry handed over the collection to First Vice President Yunus Qanuni toward the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA).

Yasser Aboul Amayem, CCO of Etisalat Afghanistan, said: “We are very sorry to hear about this tragic incident, as a result of which hundreds of innocent lives were lost.”

On behalf of Etisalat management, he assured the people of Badakhshan that the company shared their sorrow and stood by them through the hard time.

Meanwhile, Etisalat employees launched started an initiative to collect individual contributions and along with additional contribution from the commercial charitable fund, send relief material to support the families affected by natural disasters in northern provinces.
