DawnNews reported roofs of several buildings collapsed as a result of the earthquake in Nawabshah district in the wee hours of Friday.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the earthquake measured approximately 4.3 on the open-ended Richter scale. Its epicenter was 27 kilometres northeast of Nawabshah with a depth of 15km.
Police personnel and rescue teams evacuated about 50 injured people to the Nawabshah Civil Hospital, where an emergency was declared. Buildings were evacuated as panic gripped the area.
