KABUL) officials in Kabul.
IEC Secretary Ziaul Haq Amarkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News the meeting had been proposed by the commission. Abdullah and Ghani floated their proposals regarding the runoff. IEC Chairman Yousaf Nuristani and other officials were also present.
The two candidates shared their concerns about the second round of elections and were satisfied with answers from Nuristani.
Amarkhel said Abdullah and Ghani sought a list of newly added polling centres so that they could send their observers to the sites.
They also called for an increase in the number of cards being issued to observers and were given a positive response, the official said.
Amarkhel said only legal demands and proposals from the candidates would be accepted. Such meetings are expected to continue.
