Former spymaster swings behind Abdullah
After comprehensive consultations, the AGT decided to put its weight behind the team led by Abdullah, said Saleh, a former National Directorate of Security (NDS) chief.
He told a gathering in Kabul growing poverty, corruption and ethnic differences were major problems faced by the Afghans. He asked the reforms and unanimity team to strive for overcoming the problems.
Abdullah thanked AGT, saying he felt proud of having the backing of talented youths. Earlier, other parties and members of parliament announced their support to Abdullah in the runoff vote.
