KABUL (Pajhwok): The independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) will start probing complaints against provincial council results on May 31, an official said on Tuesday.
Around 3,000 complaints had been received by IECC, which would be investigated in six days, IEC spokesman Nader Mohseni told reporters in Kabul.
Mohseni urged provincial council candidates to present complete documents during complaint hearings. The meetings would be open and everyone could attend, he added.
The IEC official said every zone had been allocated one day. But complaints from the south and southeastern zone will be investigated in two days.
He said the watchdog would convey its final decision on complaints to the Independent Election Commission (IEC) on June 2. On May 20, IEC announced the preliminary results after a three days delay.
