KABUL on Wednesday reaffirmed the American military commitment to the war-torn country following a decision by President Barack Obama.
Also the commander of ISAF, Dunford said: “The people of Afghanistan and their government should be reassured with this commitment to their continued progress and development. I see this as reinforcing success.”
Dunford said Obama’s decision fully supported an advisor force to assist the Afghans to build a modern army and a professional police force.
“The ANSF have proven that they are capable of providing security, so we don’t need to fight their battles for them. Our focus is on helping them build capacity to sustain their forces.”
