Wardak security chief killed by captors
KABUL (Pajhwok): The chief security guard for Education Minister Ghulam Farooq Wardak has been killed after being kidnapped in central Maidan Wardak province by suspected insurgents, the Education Ministry said on Friday.
Commander Habibullah, who had been serving as the chief guard for the minister over the past one decade, had gone to the Syedabad district to inquire after his ailing mother, the ministry said in a statement.
Habibullah was kidnapped on Wednesday from his native village Onkhi Dara around 4am and his body was found dumped in the Shaneez area at 1pm on Friday.
The Education Ministry strongly condemned the murder and called it the handiwork of puppets in the hands of foreign spy networks.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the murder. Habibullah was the third guard of Farooq Wardak to be killed.
