LASHKARGA/KABUL (Pajhwok): At least six security personnel and a civilian were killed and two policemen wounded in a clash and bomb blast in southern Helmand province, an official said on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a statement two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed in separate incidents. The statement, however, did not mention where the incidents took place.

At least four public order policemen were killed in a roadside bomb explosion in the Amankariz area of Sangin district, Helmand governor’s spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Umar Zwak said the blast followed by intense gunfire in the area but there were no details about casualties.

Separately, unidentified gunmen shot dead a civilian in Garamsir district Tuesday evening, police chief, Abdul Ahad Chopan, said, adding the incident was being investigated.
